This school holidays, let your kids wild side explode, through our range of guided hiking experiences.  Our program helps children get into nature, get their hands dirty and have fun learning new skills. 

Through hiking and customised age-appropriate activities, they’ll experience:

  • Nature at its finest - immersion in the Australian bush for a 4-5km guided hike through John Forrest National Park.
  • Movement - Let their feet do the talking, and give the screens a miss for a few hours. 
  • Connection - To the environment around them, to the importance of nature and to each other. Watch as they learn new skills in communication and curiosity.


The program is run over two weeks, with two sessions per week. You can choose to join one session, or multiple. Each session covers different topics!


DAY 1: Tuesday 6 July - TREKKING FOR TREASURE

Get your child ready for a morning filled with adventure with this explorer-themed scavenger hunt which takes place as we hike through the forest.

DAY 2: Thursday 8 July - A MINDFUL MOVER'N'SHAKER

Time to increase your child's self awareness, and sense of space, while finding some zen, with mindfulness activities along the hiking trail, including a stop to do some yoga out in nature. Don't worry, there will be plenty of moving and shaking as we go, including some fun mindful activities for the more active of children. 

DAY 3: Tuesday 13 July - MAKE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE STORY

Let your children be inspired by the rugged natural landscape around their path, as they explore storytelling activities that let their imagination run wild.

DAY 4: Thursday 15 July - MUDDY MAKE AND CREATE

Your child will get their hands dirty on this hike, with nature-based art activities that show the beauty of nature and give them inspiration to create.


INCLUSIONS

  • A guided hike through the John Forrest National Park with first-aid trained guides (All guides come with Working With Children Checks)
  • Age-appropriate activities created and run by a qualified primary school teacher
  • Amazing stories and secrets covering local heritage of our fascinating hiking trail & surrounds
  • Healthy morning tea to enjoy outside, as well as a Goodie Jar to take home


MEETING POINT AND GETTING THERE:

This tour begins at the John Forrest National Park Picnic area, located at the main hub inside John Forrest National Park. 

**Please be aware that National Park Entry Fees apply per vehicle on the day of $15 to be paid upon arrival.  If you have a parks pass, you will not require payment of the entry fee. 


HIKING GRADE:

Bush Walk: Beginner friendly, and child friendly! 


WHAT TO WEAR & BRING:

  • Bring plenty of water ( We recommend 1litre per child)

  • Comfortable clothes and sturdy trainers 

  • Rain coats for wet weather, and a backpack to carry any required snacks and water.
