The best time of year to experience Piesse Brook is right now and we welcome new hikers, aspiring adventurers and winter wanderers to join us on this 3.5km beginner friendly winter guided hike along the Piesse Brook interpretive trail to the beautiful Rocky Pool in Kalamunda National Park.

You will discover a diversity of wildflowers, birdlife and even shy bush creatures, exploring the interesting geology of the area and uncovering the stories of the ‘hey-days’ of Rocky Pool.  Our journey takes us along the Piesse Brook to enjoy the iconic Rocky Pool while the water is flowing.  Enjoy a moment to be mindful and calm amongst the magic of the water crashing and flowing off the rocks before retracing our steps.  The tracks on this hike are wide and easy to navigate, so this makes a perfect first timer hike, or an outing for the entire family.

  • Bring plenty of water ( at least 1 litre per person)

  • Comfortable clothes and sturdy trainers or hiking boots. With the uneven surface at times, good grip soles are advised.

  • If you have hiking sticks, please bring them ( although not essential!)

  • Personal First Aid kit 

  • Snacks / morning tea to enjoy at the end

  • Camera to snap some great photos fo your hike


We are meeting at the Schipp Road carpark (The last one before the gates). No entry fees are required. 


This hike is recognised as a grade two. the trails are very even, there are minimal inclines, and the trails are wide in most places. This is ideal for a beginner hiker.


Public toilets are not available at this location so please visit the town centre prior to hiking if required. 


This tour enters a National Park, so unfortunately no dogs are allowed.
