Experience the wilderness areas of Yanchep National Park on this 13 km hike only one hour from Perth. Explore the sights and sounds of pristine wetlands that hold an abundance of natural and cultural history  in the Swan Coastal Plain. With limestone caves and cliffs, koala colonies, wildflowers and ghostly ruins, you will be immersed in Jarrah and Tuart woodlands as you hike beside Loch Mcness, and be amazed by the beauty and rich heritage of Yanchep National Park.  After we have marvelled the beauty of this trail, visit the 140m long Koala boardwalk, and enjoy close up views of the nine Koalas at the enclosure.

Yanchep National Park is located about 40 minutes north of Perth CBD,  off Wanneroo Rd.  It is well signposted. We will be meeting at the main car park, opposite the Yanchep Inn. Please view our map for the exact location. 


This hike is considered grade three. It is suitable for most ages, and it is recommended for people with a moderate fitness level due to the length of 12km. Trails have short steep hills, rough surfaces, and sections of uneven ground.  See what the grades mean here. 


  • Bring plenty of water ( at least 2 litres per person)

  • Comfortable clothes and sturdy trainers or hiking boots. With the uneven gravel trail at times, good grip soles are advised.

  • If you have hiking sticks, please bring them ( although not essential!)

  • Snacks / morning tea to enjoy at the end

  • Camera to snap some great photos fo your hike


Yanchep National Park entry fees apply to the carpark. $15 per vehicle paid upon entry to the Carpark. We recommend carpooling.

As this is a national park, no dogs are allowed.


No-shows and cancellations received within 48 hours of hike departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Cancellations within 2-7 days prior will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations received over 7 days in advance will receive a full refund or credit towards another hike experience. Please note that Rezdy fees are non refundable. Guests can transfer their booking to a friend with no penalty but must advise The Hike Collective so we can forward all booking information to the new attendee.

 If The Hike Collective cancels an event due to weather or danger in any way, your ticket will automatically be moved to the new date, or you will be eligible to transfer amounts paid to another tour or receive a full refund.
